A woman has filed suit against the truck driver who she claims attempted to make a U-turn in front of her, causing a collision.
Lisa M. Graham filed a lawsuit Dec. 19 in Madison County Circuit Court against Elizabeth A. Clark.
In her complaint, Graham alleges she was driving east on the Berm Highway in Alton on Jan. 13, 2012, at about 12:21 p.m. when Clark, who was driving an 18-wheeler tractor trailer in the same direction, attempted to make a U-turn in front of other vehicles, including Graham’s. In turn, Graham struck Clark’s vehicle, according to the complaint.
Because of the collision, Graham was hindered and prevented from attending to her usual duties and affairs and incurred medical costs, the suit states. She also lost money, the complaint says.
Graham blames Clark for causing the collision, saying she negligently made an improper left turn, made an illegal U-turn and failed to keep a proper lookout.
In her complaint, Graham is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Bob L. Perica of The Perica Law Firm in Wood River will be representing her.
