The Twentieth Judicial Circuit was awarded a Technology Modernization Grant in the amount of $74,699.91 to upgrade the computer systems of St. Clair County’s Judicial Department.

Chief Judge Andrew Gleeson commended the “untiring efforts of his staff,” specifically Assistant Trial Court Administrator and Technology Supervisor Maggie Smith and Trial Court Administrator Mary Berneking.

“Their professional and dogged approach to executing these grant applications has greatly benefited the courts and court operations of St. Clair County,” Gleeson said.

“This grant will provide updated technology needs for multiple areas of the court system in St. Clair County, and is vital in assisting us with going into the future of court technology,” Smith said. “It will help us serve the public better.”

The grant comes after the St. Clair County computer system was hacked in late May 2021, causing disruptions in the system that lasted for several weeks.
