EDWARDSVILLE — A driver who allegedly suffered injuries in a collision claims the other driver was speeding at an intersection on Route 159.

Phillip Wood filed a complaint July 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Dominque M. Travis, alleging negligence.

According to his suit, Wood was driving his vehicle northbound on Illinois State Route 159 on Sept. 6, 2019. He alleges Travis was driving his vehicle at the intersection of Highway 159 and Whistle Stop Drive when he collided with Wood's vehicle.

As a result, Wood claims he suffered injuries to his neck, back, shoulder and knee. He also claims he suffered lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

Wood claims Travis was speeding, failed to slow down, failed to keep a careful lookout and failed to stop, swerve or sound a warning to try and avoid the collision.

Wood seeks compensation of more than $50,000, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Kenneth Vuylsteke of Fox & Vuylsteke LLP in Webster Groves, Mo.
