Woman sues over icy slip, fall at O'Fallon business

Lawsuits

BELLEVILLE — A woman claims she slipped on ice at a business in O'Fallon and suffered severe injuries that required surgical treatments.

Tyra Fisher filed a complaint Feb. 26 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against 8 Williamsburg Center Trust and Office Centers Inc., alleging negligence.

Fisher claims she was at the defendant's business at Corporate Crossing in O'Fallon on March 5, 2019, when she allegedly slipped on ice and fell on the sidewalk. Fisher alleges she suffered "serious and permanent" injuries including injuries to her back, legs and hip. She allegedly required "extensive surgeries" as a result of the injuries.

Fisher claims the defendants were negligent for failing to keep the sidewalk clear of ice and failing to warn of the dangerous condition with either barricades or roping off the area. She further claims the defendants failed in their duty to keep the premises in a safe condition to "prevent harm" to her and others.

Fisher seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Lynn Fischer and Chelsea Brosemer of The Fischer Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
