Pedestrian accuses motorist of hitting parked car, striking him

BELLEVILLE – A St. Clair County man alleges he was injured while walking in East St. Louis when a driver struck a parked car, which then struck him.

Antoine Gully filed a complaint on July 18 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Lemichael Pigram, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 19, 2015, he was walking on the sidewalk on Missouri Avenue near Sixth Street in East St. Louis when the defendant struck a parked vehicle and pushed it into the plaintiff. 

Gully alleges he has sustained severe injuries resulting in pain and suffering, disability and loss of enjoyment of life as a result of the incident. 

The plaintiff alleges Pigram failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle and failed to reduce his speed to avoid an accident.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000. He is represented by Derek J. Siegel of Kuehn, Beasley & Young PC in Belleville.
