Empire Tax Corp. accused of failing to make payments

BELLEVILLE — A boutique broker dealer is suing Empire Tax Corp., a buyer, for allegedly failing to make payments.

Raven Securities Inc. filed a complaint on Oct. 4 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Empire Tax Corp., alleging that the buyer failed to perform its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 27, it entered into a contract with the defendant wherein the defendant agreed to purchase the plaintiff's shares of Illinois Star Centre LLC and Illinois Star Centre Operational Management LLC for a total price of $100,000.

To date, the plaintiff has not receive any payment, the suit alleges.

Raven Securities. requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $100,000, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs and for any other just and equitable relief. He is represented by Alvin C. Paulson of Alvin C. Paulson, Attorney at Law in Belleville.
