A St. Clair County couple says they were hurt when another driver crashed into them at a Belleville intersection.
Lorenzo and Cornelia Drakes filed a lawsuit against Marlon K. Cooper July 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, the Drakes were driving south on Lebanon Avenue in October 2012. As they crossed the intersection of Sherman Avenue, Cooper, heading east on Sherman, allegedly failed to yield the right of way to the Drakes and crashed into them.
The Drakes accuse Cooper of negligence and ask for more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court fees. They are represented by attorneys Gregory D. Abel, Charles A. Lukis, Julie A. Blanks and Craig D. Queen of Decatur.
