Prairie Farms Dairy sued over driver's alleged failure to yield

A man has filed suit against the dairy farm whose manager allegedly drove a vehicle into his own.

Jerad Drumheller claims he was driving on Sept. 30, 2009, when Glenn Stroder, who was driving a vehicle owned by defendant Prairie Farms Dairy, failed to yield the right-of-way and collided with Drumheller’s vehicle.

Because of the collision, Drumheller suffered serious, painful and permanent injuries; incurred hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical costs and was prevented from attending to his usual duties and affairs, according to the complaint filed June 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. He also faces the prospect of losing millions of dollars in his future earnings and suffered permanent pain, mental anguish, disability and disfigurement, the suit states.

Stroder negligently failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to keep the vehicle under proper control, the complaint says.

Thomas Q. Keefe Jr. of Keefe and Keefe in Belleville will be representing him.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-298.
