An Edwardsville motorcyclist is suing the driver of the car that allegedly crashed into him on a Sugar Creek highway.
Victor Ray Couch filed the lawsuit against Robert E. Harpstrite May 27 in Madison County Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, Couch was riding his motorcycle on IL 160 in June 2009. As he approached the intersection of Highline Road in Sugar Creek Township, Couch says Harpstrite tried to turn left and crashed into him.
Couch accuses Harpstrite of negligence for failing to avoid the crash. He is asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses and lost income along with court costs.
