Granite City dog owners sued over boy's injuries

Foster Jr.

A Granite City man claims a dog attacked and mauled his minor son, causing the boy to sustain multiple dog bite lacerations to his back and arm.

Robert L. Mull filed a lawsuit March 29 in Madison County Circuit Court against Joseph R. North and Jackelyn L. North.

Robert Mull claims the Norths' dog escaped from their back yard at 2722 Harding St. in Granite City on March 29, 2009, and attacked his son, Jeremy Mull, biting and chewing him.

In addition to his multiple lacerations, Jeremy Mull experienced great pain and suffering and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.

Robert Mull blames the Norths for causing his son's injuries, saying they failed to secure their dog and failed to control the dog.

In his six-count complaint, Robert Mull seeks a judgment of more than $300,000, plus costs.

Ronald J. Foster Jr. of Schoen, Walton, Telken and Foster in East St. Louis will be representing him.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-289.
