Hylla bows out of suit between Granite City family members over pool business

Hylla

A dispute over a Granite City pool business will need a new judge.

Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla recused himself on March 30 from the suit filed by Edwards Perigen Sr. against his daughter, Yvette Cotter, and son Edwards Perigen Jr.

Madison County Chief Judge Ann Callis had assigned the suit to Hylla a week earlier.

Edward Perigen Sr. is suing his children for allegedly using undue influence to make him turn over properties to them in 2010.

He claims that he did not properly understand the documents he was signing.

The plaintiff also alleges that his children have denied him access to his pool business and its telephone lines.

Edward Perigen Sr. seeks the return of his properties and other relief.

Hylla did not specify the reason for his withdrawal from the case.

Misty Wuebbels represents the plaintiff.

Christopher Threlkeld represents the defendants.

The case is Madison case number 11-L-150.
