A woman claims her former boyfriend of three months refused to reimburse her $14,000 she loaned him through cash advances on her credit card.
Jeri Rath filed a lawsuit in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Vincent J. Corpus.
The case, however. was dismissed about three months after it was filed by Circuit Judge Patrick Young.
Rath had claimed that Corpus promised to pay Rath back within a few weeks if she allowed him to borrow $14,000.
"In order to procure this amount of money Plaintiff took cash advances on her credit cards for the loans," the suit stated.
Rath’s attorney D. Todd Mathews on Feb. 8, 2010 filed a notice of dismissal.
In an interview in November 2012, Corpus called the lawsuit "bogus."
