St. Clair County to host seminar on new technology

St. Clair County will soon be scanning its land records and citizens are invited to get a first-hand look Tuesday at the new technology making it possible.

The St. Clair County Recorder of Deeds will host a seminar together with representatives from software company Fidlar Technologies to demonstrate its new on-line document searches and imaging software.

According to a release sent out by Recorder of Deeds Michael Costello, "one of our goals is to continue to provide you with services that improve and enhance your interaction with our office."

The office believes the new on-line access will help it meet that goal.

The seminar is free. Staffers from Fidlar and the recorder's office will demonstrate two products, "Laredo and Tapestry," programs that provide remote internet access, allow searches and expand search parameters for those seeking documents.

The seminar will be at the St. Clair County Courthouse in Belleville in the County Board Room on the 5th floor. It will begin June 9 at 9 a.m., running until 11 a.m.

Email katien@fidlar.com to RSVP.
