Eiler Road accident caused injuries, woman claims in suit

A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against another woman, alleging her neck, back, both knees and body were severely and permanently injured after a collision.

Fershon Lockett claims she was driving south on Eiler Road on May 22, 2007, when Patricia Takmajian, who was also driving south "violently struck" Lockett's automobile.

Because of the collision, Lockett was prevented from attending to her usual duties, lost large sums of money which would have accrued to her, experienced pain and anguish and became liable for hospital bills, according to the complaint filed May 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Takmajian failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to observe Lockett, failed to apply her brakes, failed to decrease her speed to avoid a collision, failed to turn to avoid striking Lockett, failed to give proper warning and drove too closely to Takmajian, the suit states.

Lockett is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

Michael P. Hickey of Brown and Brown in Fairview Heights will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-267.
