A Murphysboro Wal-Mart customer who fell at the store two years ago claims the store is negligent for failing to remove dog food on its floor.

Ruby Turner filed suit Nov. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court claiming she fell Nov. 30, 2005, severely injuring her back, knees, ankles and other diverse body parts, necessitating medical care and causing her significant pain and suffering.

Represented by James P. Stiehl of Swansea, Turner is seeking in excess of $50,000 from Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.

The suit claims the store failed to keep the floor clear of debris, failed to inspect the floor to determine it was safe for customer traffic and failed to remove the debris.
