The City of East St. Louis is denying allegations in a resident’s lawsuit alleging her apartment was torn down without her permission.

Ciara Corley filed her Dec. 16 lawsuit against the city, alleging the defendant tore down her apartment building at 1707 North Park Drive without her consent.

As a result, she claims she sustained damages of more than $75,000, the suit states.

She seeks a judgment of more than $75,000, plus costs.

The City of East St. Louis denied the allegations in its Jan. 20 answer through Tameeka L. Purchase of Clayborne, Sabo & Wagner in Belleville.

Circuit Judge Andrew Gleeson scheduled a status conference for June 15 at 9 a.m.

Blake G. Meinders of Belleville represents Corley.
