Is there a credibility gap in this administration?

To the Editor:

Abraham Lincoln once stated; “You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.”

President Obama made the following statements. What do you think?

“I don’t have lobbyists,” Feb. 10, 2010 (note Jonathan Gruber);

“We shouldn’t mandate the purchase of health care,” Feb. 26, 2008;

“My Father served in WWII," Aug. 9, 2010 (his father was 3- 9 yrs during WWII living in Kenya);

“I think it is important to realize the Fast and Furious Program was a field initiative program under the previous administration," Sept. 21, 2012;

"Benghazi violence was caused by internet videos and demonstrations,” State Department following Sept. 11, 2012 attack;

“There is not even a smidgeon of corruption in the IRS,” July 24, 2014 (after Lois Lerner e-mails surfaced);

"I will not sign a health care bill that will raise the deficit by a dime," Sept. 9, 2009;

"If you like your health care plan you can keep it," Nov. 11, 2013;

“You can keep your doctor,” July 15, 2009;

“Bypassing Congress is unconstitutional…. I intend to reverse it as President of the United States of America,” March 31, 2008; and

“This is the most transparent administration in history," Feb. 14, 2013.

What seems transparent are the President’s misrepresentations of reality. Some compare Obama to an emperor masquerading as President. If so, does the emperor have any clothes on?

Is there a credibility gap?
