A woman has filed suit against the driver whom she alleges failed to yield the right-of-way and struck her vehicle.

Peggy L. Riley alleges she was driving south on Godfrey Road at its intersection with the south entrance to Lewis and Clark College in Godfrey on Dec. 3, 2012, when defendant Kristen D. Crawford, who was driving east at the same entrance, turned left onto Godfrey and struck Riley's vehicle.

Because of the collision, Riley suffered serious and disabling injuries, incurred medical costs and experienced great pain, suffering and emotional distress, according to the complaint filed Nov. 10 in Madison County Circuit Court. She also was unable to carry out her usual activities and incurred medical costs, the suit states.

Crawford negligently drove without keeping a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to decrease her speed and failed to yield the right-of-way, the complaint says.

In her complaint, Riley seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Attorneys Gregory D. Abel, Julie A. Blanks and Craig D. Queen, of Hausmann-McNally of Decatur, will represent Riley.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 14-L-1536.
