Chemotherapy allegedly prescribed to treat leukemia woman didn't have

A woman claims her former doctor prescribed her chemotherapy drugs to treat the leukemia she did not have.

Rosemarie C. Wendler filed a lawsuit Dec. 28 in Madison County Circuit Court against Dr. Abid O. Nisar.

In her complaint, Wendler alleges Nisar diagnosed her with leukemia. In turn, he prescribed her illegal chemotherapy drugs, according to the complaint.

Because of Nisar’s actions, Wendler sustained injuries, the suit states.

Nisar negligently administered illegal, non-FDA-approved chemotherapy drugs, diagnosed Wendler for a condition she didn’t have, failed to interpret tests taken by Wendler, unskillfully treated Wendler, failed to see that proper care was provided to Wendler, failed to provide adequate care for Wendler and failed to take proper cognizance of Nisar’s health, the complaint says.

In her complaint, Wendler is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000.

Wendler, who is from Highland, will be appearing pro se.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-2093.
