EDWARDSVILLE — A passenger is suing a motorist after he was allegedly injured in a collision on Highway 159.

Cherie VanCamp filed a complaint July 30 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Dominique M. Travis, alleging negligence.

VanCamp alleges in her complaint that she was involved in a vehicle collision with a car driven by Travis at the intersection of Highway 159 and Whistle Drive in Madison County on Sept. 6, 2019. She claims she was a passenger in the vehicle that was struck by Travis and suffered permanent injuries to her neck, back and knees and incurred medical treatment expenses.

VanCamp alleges Travis was driving at an excessive speed, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to slow down, swerve or sound a warning to try and avoid the collision.

She also alleges that the injuries she suffered have interfered with her work and duties.

VanCamp seeks compensation of more than $50,000, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Kenneth Vuylsteke of Fox & Vuylsteke LLP in Webster Groves, Mo.
