BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing a trucking company and a driver for allegedly causing collision on Interstate 64.

Timadj Wellmaker filed a complaint on Nov. 20 in  St. Clair County Circuit Court against P K Trucking LLC and Ralph Barr Gordon, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 16, 2016, he was driving a vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 64 near mile post 8.6 in Caseyville Township when Gordon, who was driving a tractor trailer owned by P K Trucking, caused a collision.

Wellmaker claims he sustained internal and external injuries.

The plaintiff alleges P K Trucking negligently entrusted its tractor trailer to Gordon. He also alleges Gordon failed to keep the tractor trailer under proper control and failed to take evasive actions to avoid the collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs. Plaintiff is represented by Kenneth B. Beljanski and Jaye R. Lindsay of Brown & Brown LLP in Fairview Heights.
