By Lhalie Castillo | Oct 26, 2018

BELLEVILLE — A daughter accuses several manufacturers of exposing her father to asbestos.

Shannon Geisler, as special administrator of the estate of Gary Geisler, filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Ameron International, Cooper Industries, Vermont Talc and other defendants.

According to the complaint, Gary Geisler was exposed to asbestos fibers emanating from certain products manufactured by the defendants. He was diagnosed with lung cancer and died in 2016, the complaint states. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate warnings and instructions concerning the dangers of working around products containing asbestos fibers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and economic damages of more than $50,000 and all further relief as the court deemed appropriate. She is represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian & Associates PC in Edwardsville.
