BELLEVILLE — A motorist accuses another driver of causing a crash in St. Clair County.
Gavin R. Kohlmeier filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Michael L. Schwarz, alleging he breached his duty to operate his vehicle in a safe and proper manner.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendant caused a collision near the intersection of Illinois Route 158 and IMB Station Road.
He claims he suffered severe injuries both internally and externally.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant did not obey a traffic control device and failed to reduce his speed.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Arlie E. Traughber of Traughber & Morris Ltd. in Columbia.
