BELLEVILLE — A motorist claims he became disabled and disfigured following a collision on Missouri Avenue.

Victor Darwin filed a complaint on Sept. 25 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Amie Seitz, alleging she breached her duty to exercise due care and caution while operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 20, 2017, both parties were operating their vehicles on Missouri Avenue at its intersection with 10th Street when the defendant caused her vehicle to collide with the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff holds Seitz responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, failed to obey a traffic control signal and failed to operate her vehicle in a safe manner.

He claims he sustained severe and permanent injuries resulting in disability, disfigurement, medical expenses and lost wages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus any further relief as the court may deem proper and just. He is represented by John Hipskind of Hipskind & McAninch LLC in Belleville.
