BELLEVILLE — A couple accuse a motorist of running a red light and causing an accident.

Nora Landgraf and Gerald Gutzler filed a complaint on June 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Sina N. Ghatan, alleging that the driver failed to keep proper control of her vehicle.

According to the complaint, Landgraf was traveling eastbound on St. Clair Avenue when Ghatan drove through the intersection with Bunkum Road and struck her vehicle. Landgraf claims she suffered severe and permanent injuries, resulting in lost wages, disability and disfigurement.

The plaintiffs hold Ghatan responsible because she allegedly failed to maintain careful lookout and ran a red light.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $75,000. They are represented by Samantha S. Unsell of Keefe, Keefe & Unsell in Belleville.
