BELLEVILLE — A customer who slipped and fell while shopping for groceries accuses Shop 'n' Save of negligence.
Melissa Stidimire filed a complaint on July 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Supervalu Inc., which owns the Shop 'n' Save in Belleville.
According to the complaint, Stidimire fell after slipping on an unidentified substance.
She claims she suffered serious injuries to her head, neck, back, arms, legs and buttocks, resulting in medical expenses exceeding $16,000.
Stidimire alleges Supervalu allowed the liquid to stay on the floor without warning customers.
The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $50,000.
