EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims she was injured in a collision on Illinois 140 in Bethalto.

Babette Conner filed a complaint on June 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Mark Ringering, alleging he failed to exercise reasonable care and caution while operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was operating a vehicle traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 140 in Bethalto on Feb. 16 when Ringering allegedly struck her vehicle from behind.

As a result, the plaintiff claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries to her neck and back and incurred lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to maintain a careful lookout, failed to yield and failed to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks at least $50,000 in damages, plus the costs of this action.

She is represented by Lanny Darr of Darr Law Offices Ltd. in Alton.
