EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing Swift Transportation Co. and its employee following a collision on I-55.
Vicky Weber filed a complaint on May 15 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Swift Transportation Co. of Arizona LLC and Tayler Wayne, alleging Wayne failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle he was driving.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 14, 2016, she was driving her vehicle northbound on Interstate 55 near south of MP 20 in Jarvis Township when Wayne, an employee of Swift, caused the vehicle he was driving to collide with her vehicle.
Weber claims she sustained extensive injuries to her head, body, limbs, left shoulder and hip.
The plaintiff alleges Wayne failed to keep his vehicle in his lane of traffic, failed to maintain careful lookout and failed to use evasive actions to avoid a collision.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action.
