EDWARDSVILLE — A pedestrian is suing a motorist and his employer for allegedly hitting her while she attempted to cross the street in Edwardsville.

Elizabeth Saul filed a complaint on May 3 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Michael R. Heady and Donco Electrical Construction LLC, alleging Heady failed to keep his motor vehicle under proper control.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 24, 2017, she was walking within the designated pedestrian crosswalk located on North Main Street in Edwardsville when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Heady, who was an employee of Donco.

Saul claims she sustained extensive injuries to her head, body, trunk and limbs, both internally and externally.

The plaintiff alleges Heady negligently operated his vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable, failed to yield to pedestrian and failed to take evasive actions to avoid colliding with plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against each defendant, for an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs and any further relief as the court deems proper and just.

She is represented by Robert H. Gregory of Law Office of Robert H. Gregory PC in East Alton.
