BELLEVILLE — A nurse practitioner is suing her employer for allegedly failing to pay her full wages.

Melanie Wylie filed a complaint on Feb. 23, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against I Think I Can Learning Centers Inc., I Think I Can Support Services and Lisa Grybinas, alleging they violated the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between July 25, 2015, and Oct. 6, 2016, she worked for the defendants at the agreed rate of $90 per hour.

During that period, the plaintiff claims she was underpaid and was caused to suffer continuing problems in obtaining her full wages.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to timely pay wages due to her, continued to promise that they would make up the wage as soon as the business picked up and failed to maintain accurate pay records.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory fees and charges, plus interest, litigation costs and all other relief that the court may deem just and proper.

She is represented by John Stephen Brubaker of The Law Office of Van-Lear P. Eckert PC in Belleville.
