Driver sues over Route 159 collision

Car accident 22

BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a collision on Illinois Route 159.

Angela Moore filed a complaint on Feb. 9 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Kelly Floyd, alleging he failed to keep his vehicle under proper control.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 12, 2016, she was driving a 2013 Ford Explorer crossing Illinois Route 159 when the defendant struck her vehicle.

As a result, she claims she suffered injuries to her left shoulder and upper back, severe pain and mental anguish and was prevented from attending to her usual affairs and duties.

The plaintiff alleges Floyd negligently disregarded the traffic control devise, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to yield right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in excess of $50,000, plus costs and all other relief deemed just and proper.

She is represented by Paul J. Evans and Kaitlyn M. Rausch Crossen of Evans Law Firm PC in O'Fallon.
