Pickup truck driver seeks more than $50,000 following Alton crash

Car accident 29

EDWARDSVILLE – A driver claims he was injured in a collision in Alton because another driver failed to keep a lookout.

Gilbert K. Young filed a complaint on Jan. 26 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Mark A. Bracht, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 1, 2016, he was driving a 1996 Chevrolet S-10 truck on Woodburn Road in Alton when the defendant negligently caused the 1996 Ford F-150 truck he was operating to collide with plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff alleges he suffered injuries that resulted in necessary medical care and treatment expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

Young alleges Bracht negligently drove his truck at a speed greater than was reasonable, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to stop or maneuver his vehicle to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant of more than $50,000, costs of court and all other relief that is proper and just.

He is represented by Rodney D. Caffey and Ralph J. Mendelsohn of The Caffey Law Firm LLC in Godfrey.
