Labor unions sue Ehret Inc. for failing to pay monthly contributions

Law money 03

EAST ST. LOUIS — Labor organizations are suing an Illinois corporation for allegedly failing to make payments under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Plumbers and Fitters Local Union 101, et al. filed a complaint on Nov. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois against Ehret, Inc., alleging violation of the Labor Management Relations Act of 1947 and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that under the terms of the collective bargaining agreements, Ehret has been and is obligated to make monthly reports on all covered employees showing the number of hours worked and the gross wages of each employee. The plaintiffs claim they have demanded payments, to no avail.

The plaintiffs allege Ehret failed to submit its monthly fringe benefit reports and contributions and failed to comply with the collective bargaining agreements.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for delinquent contributions, interlocutory order of accounting, liquidated damages, costs, accounting fees, attorneys' fees, and for such other and further relief the court may consider appropriate.

They are represented by Greg A. Campbell of Hammond and Shinners, PC in St. Louis.
