BELLEVILLE — A California man is suing two financial advisors for allegedly refusing to repay an investment that would not go through.

Christopher Aubuchon filed a complaint on Aug. 14 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Robert Gantner and Merrill Lynch, alleging they failed their duties to act with the upmost candor, care, loyalty, and good faith.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2013, he was offered by the defendants to invest in their Stonebridge Condo. The defendants allegedly transferred $156,249.29 out of his account despite having knowledge that the investment would not push thru and refuses to discuss the matter with plaintiff.

As a result, Aubuchon claims he suffered lost of money and investment oppurtunities.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to repay for the transferred amount, told numerous untruths to their client and failed to otherwise act in the interests of their client.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus pre-judgment interest, and for such other relief the court deems just and proper.

He is represented by Jarrod P. Beasley of Kuehn, Beasley & Young, PC in Belleville.
