BELLEVILLE – A woman alleges she was injured when she was struck by a motorist while working in a construction zone.

Jennifer Huels Green filed a complaint on July 18 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Henry Ford and The Killian Corp., alleging they failed to keep the premises safe to avoid harming others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 20, 2015, she was a pedestrian and working as an employee of the Employer and Operating Engineers Local 520 on state Route 177 in Washington County as contracted by Kilian Corp. The suit states Ford's vehicle struck her and injured her back, leg, knee and ankle.

The plaintiff alleges Ford failed to reduce his speed while traveling in a construction zone, failed to obey the posted signage while in the construction zone and failed to apply the brakes on his vehicle in order to avoid colliding with the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit and any other relief the court deems just and appropriate.

She is represented by Bruce R. Cook of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew Brauer & Shevlin LTD in Belleville.
