BELLEVILLE — A passenger is suing a driver for allegedly causing a 2015 car crash.

Robyn Ward filed a complaint on April 11 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Khadijah Blackmon, alleging that the vehicle driver breached her duty to exercise reasonable care to avoid colliding with other vehicles.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 20, 2015, she sustained severe injuries when the vehicle she was riding in on South Lincoln Avenue near West 6th Street was struck by the defendant's vehicle.

The plaintiff claims she suffered pain and suffering, loss of wages and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff alleges Blackmon carelessly drove her vehicle at a speed too fast for the conditions and failed to keep careful lookout to avoid collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs of this action and such other just and proper relief.

She is represented by Matthew P. Young of Kuehn, Beasley & Young PC in Belleville.
