Car accident 23

BELLEVILLE — A St. Clair County couple is suing a motorist for crashing into their motorcycle.

Randy and Amanda Redmon filed a lawsuit Aug. 23 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Lee Corey Walton, also known as Corey Walton Jr. alleging Walton was intoxicated by drugs and/or alcohol while driving.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 23, 2014, Randy Redmon was driving a Honda motorcycle with his wife Amanda as a passenger, on state Route 4 near Litchfield Road when they were hit by a vehicle driven by Walton. The suit says the crash caused the plaintiffs serious and permanent injuries, leading to more than $326,000 in medical expenses.

The plaintiffs allege Walton failed to keep a careful lookout, drove his vehicle on the wrong side of the roadway, failed to yield right of way and was driving while intoxicated.

The Redmons seeks trial by jury, judgment against the defendant of more than  $50,000 for each plaintiff, plus punitive damages, interest, court costs and all other relief the court deems just.

They are represented by attorney Matthew J. Sauter of Sauter Sullivan LLC in St. Louis..
