Driver files suit over alleged injuries from Highway 50 accident

BELLEVILLE – A woman alleges she was injured in an accident on Highway 50.

Tyanne D. Mobley filed a complaint on June 6 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Coty L. Ritchie alleging that the individual failed to comply with all traffic laws.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 3, 2014, while she was traveling on Highway 50 on O'Fallon near the intersection with Lincoln Avenue when suddenly and without warning, the defendant's vehicle rear-ended her vehicle. She alleges the incident caused her to suffer severe and permanent injuries to her body and neck, resulting in physical pain, mental anguish, loss of normal life, loss of earnings, and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Coty L. Ritchie responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to operate his vehicle in a safe manner, failed to maintain sufficient distance, failed to keep his vehicle under control and failed to maintain proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount of more than $50,000. She is represented by Matthew J. Marlen of Matthew J. Marlen PC in Belleville.
