Woman files suit against Alton driver after accident

Car accident 24

EDWARDSVILLE – An Elsah woman has filed suit against an Alton woman alleging injuries from a car accident.

Samantha Droege filed a complaint on June 13 in Madison County Circuit Court against Peggy Campbell alleging that the Alton resident breached her duty to use care and caution.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 25, 2015, while she was a passenger in a vehicle heading eastbound on Homer Adams Parkway at or about its intersection with Alby Street in Alton, the defendant made a left turn against a red traffic light and caused a collision. As a result of the incident, she alleges injuries to her abdomen, back, shoulder, neck and head. She claims she also suffered lost wages and incurred medical-related expenses. The plaintiff holds Campbell responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep her eyes on the road, failed to stop at traffic control device, failed to exercise proper control of her vehicle and drove her vehicle at a speed greater than allowed by law.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000 plus costs of this suit. She is represented by Allan L. Napp of Shrempf, Kelly & Napp LTD in Alton.
