Negligence alleged in traffic collision

Car accident 12

BELLEVILLE — A St. Louis County resident is suing Keely Spellman, a St. Clair County resident, alleging negligence in an auto accident.

Alex Zeman filed a complaint on May 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Keely Spellman, alleging that the St. Clair County resident failed to take extra care and the necessary precautionary measures, resulting in a traffic collision.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 5 he was driving a 2011 General Motors Savanna Kia Sedona on Illinois 15 eastbound when he was directly hit by the defendant who was driving a Chrysler Sebring. The plaintiff claims severe and permanent physical injuries due to the collision. The plaintiff holds Spellman responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to exercise care and properly observe other vehicles, drive safely, apply brakes and reduce speed so as to avoid accidents.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount that will fairly compensate him for damages and costs. He is represented by Brian D. Kurth of Meyerkord & Meyerkord LLC in St. Louis and Justin L. Mason of The Law Offices of Justin L. Mason LLC in St. Louis.
