Dump truck operator says negligence led to vehicle overturning

Law money 03

BELLEVILLE — A dump truck operator is suing Waste Management National Services Inc., Petroff Trucking Company Inc. and John Doe Corporation, alleging negligence and claiming that insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Harley Wider filed a complaint on May 4 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to make sure that the area where plaintiff was directed to drive was safe.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 7, 2014 he suffered severe and permanent injuries when the truck overturned. The plaintiff holds Waste Management National Services, Inc., Petroff Trucking Company, Inc. and John Doe Corporation responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate warning to plaintiff about the condition of the soil where he was directed to drive.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in excess of $50,000 plus court costs and any further relief the court deems just. He is represented by Christopher A. Wagner and Michael A. Chehval of Gabriel, McCartney & Wagner, P.C. in St. Louis.
