Mother, children allegedly injured in Belleville collision

BELLEVILLE – A mother is suing on behalf of herself and her two minor children over a Belleville car accident that allegedly left them all injured.

Tanesia Runnels, Tatiana Head and Jalisa Head, minors by their mother Tanesia Runnels, filed the suit March 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mary Nunn.

On April 15, 2014, Runnels was driving eastbound on Foley Drive near its intersection with 74th Street in Belleville while the defendant was also driving eastbound along the same roadway. Runnels claims Nunn struck the plaintiffs' vehicle.

Runnels alleges Nunn was negligent for failing to keep a proper lookout, driving in such a manner to cause an accident, failing to properly apply the brakes, following too closely and driving too quickly.

As a result, all three plaintiffs suffered bodily injuries, have spent money for necessary medical care, have experienced pain and suffering and, in the case of plaintiff Runnels, she has lost wages and will suffer an impairment of future earning capacity, the suit states.

The plaintiffs seek an award of in excess of $50,000 each, plus court costs. They are represented by Lloyd M. Cueto of the Law Office of Lloyd M. Cueto in Belleville.
