Plaintiff claims serious injuries in head-on collision with defendant's vehicle

BELLEVILLE – An O'Fallon motorist is suing over injuries she alleges she received in the course of an automobile crash. She is citing negligence.

Lisa Rosenberg filed the suit March 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Myra Blackman.

On Sept. 23, 2014, the plaintiff was driving a vehicle westbound on Highway 50 in St. Clair County, according to the suit, which states that at the same time and place, the defendant was traveling eastbound when she allegedly crossed the center line and struck the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff says she received multiple injuries as a result of the following alleged acts of negligence on the part of the defendant: Failure to keep a proper lookout, driving her vehicle in such a manner to cause it to strike the plaintiff's vehicle, failure to keep her vehicle under proper control, and failure to properly apply the brakes of the vehicle she was operating.

The plaintiff was injured in her back, shoulder, head and body, has spent money on necessary medical expenses, suffered disability, experienced pain and suffering, and will suffer an impairment in future earning capacity, the suit claims.

The plaintiff seeks an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Van-Lear P. Eckert of the Law Offices of Van-Lear P. Eckert PC in Bellevillle.
