An Illinois woman is suing a Bethalto motorist, alleging negligence for injuries she says she received when the defendant's vehicle struck her car.

Elizabeth A. Bruno filed a lawsuit on Dec. 10 in Madison County Circuit Court against Denise M. Russell of Bethalto.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 17, both Bruno and Russell were driving west on Homer Adams Parkway in Godfrey.  The suit says the defendant violently collided with the vehicle Bruno was operating, resulting in injuries.

This lawsuit states the defendant was guilty of driving too fast, failing to reduce speed of the vehicle, failing to keep the vehicle under control and failing to keep a proper lookout.

The suit says the plaintiff suffered permanent injuries as well as a loss of earning capacity now and in the future, pain and suffering now and in the future, and costs of medical care now and in the future.

Bruno seeks at least $50,000, plus court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Joseph E. Hoefert of Alton.
