Bunker Hill bar sued over customer's trip on step

The owner of a Bunker Hill bar is being sued by a customer who says she slipped on a step and hurt herself.

Billie Mullink filed a lawsuit Oct. 28 in Madison County Circuit Court against Donald L. Wallace and D&T Wedge, doing business as Pinups.

According to the complaint, Mullink was a customer of Pinups restaurant and bar on South Washington Street in Bunker Hill in October 2011. Mullink says she slipped on an unmarked and worn step and fell to the floor. She claims the step was at one time painted with a light color but the paint had since worn off. She contends there was insufficient light near the step to alert customers of its condition.

Mullink accuses Pinups and its owners, Wallace and D&T Wedge, of negligence. She asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses and court costs.

Attorney Steven D. Davis of Edwardsville represents her. They request a jury trial.
