Troy truck stop rear-end accident is subject of suit

A man and woman claim they experienced severe pain after a driver rear-ended their parked vehicle.

Joseph Jensen and Tia Madigan filed a lawsuit Aug. 14 in Madison County Circuit Court against Zero Max and Aziz S. Mansurov.

In their complaint, Jensen and Madigan claim they were sitting in Jensen’s vehicle, which was parked at a truck stop in Troy, on April 24. Suddenly, Mansurov, who was driving a transport trailer for Zero Max, struck the back of Jensen’s vehicle, according to the complaint.

Because of the collision, Jensen and Madigan experienced severe pain, suffering, mental anguish and property damages and incurred medical costs, the suit states. They also lost wages and their normal lives and endured pain and suffering, the complaint says.

The plaintiffs blame Mansurov for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, failed to yield the right-of-way and drove too fast.

In their complaint, Jensen and Madigan seek a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.

Brian M. Wendler of Wendler Law in Edwardsville will be representing them.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-1365.
