15 apply for associate vacancy in Madison County

Fifteen area attorneys have applied for the associate judge vacancy in the Third Judicial Circuit, created upon the appointment of Associate Judge James Hackett to circuit judge on June 6.

Balloting has not yet begun, according to Judge Dave Hylla's office.

The attorneys are:

Laura Andrews of Andrews and Mengarelli in Granite City

Elizabeth N. Carrion of Edwardsville

John T. Fischer, assistant Madison County State’s Attorney

Ronald J. Foster, Jr. of Schoen Walton Telken and Foster in East St. Louis

David R. Jones of Edwardsville

Philip J. Lading of Sandberg Phoenix and von Gontard in Edwardsville

Michael P. McGinley of Heyl Royster in Edwardsville

Marc W. Parker of Parker Law in Maryville

Maureen D. Schuette of Edwardsville

Ronald R. Slemer of Slemer Law in Edwardsville

Katherine M. Smith of Alton

Marleen M. Suarez of Suarez Law Office in Collinsville

Kelly C. Sullivan of Sullivan and Von Bokel in Fairview Heights

Leslie A. Wood of Glen Carbon
