Dentons attorney to present product safety segment at SLU

ST. LOUISBelinda May, a partner in the St. Louis office of the Dentons global law firm, will present an educational segment in the "Advanced Product Safety Management Certificate Course" set Sept. 23-27 in the Center for Supply Chain Management Studies at Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business.

The advanced certificate course will cover product safety and recall compliance issues in litigation, risk assessment, chemicals, social media, sustainability, data management and more.

May’s educational segment is entitled “Communicating with Public Agencies and the Marketplace.”

May’s practice at Dentons focuses on regulatory and contested matters arising in design, manufacture and sale of consumer products, brand advertising, co-branding and brand extensions.

In 2009, Saint Louis University became the first U.S. university to offer a product safety management curriculum following passage of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA). Along with The Food Safety and Modernization Act of 2011, CPSIA resulted in more aggressive regulatory oversight and generated more product recalls by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and other federal agencies.
