ESL man claims injuries in 18th Street accident

An East St. Louis man has filed suit against the driver who he claims collided with his vehicle at a St. Clair County intersection.

O-La Turner claims he was driving west on Lake Avenue near its intersection with 18th Street when Earl McGee, who was driving south on 18th Street near the same intersection, struck Turner’s vehicle.

Because of the collision, Turner became sick, sore, lame and disordered; suffered physical pain and mental anguish; and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed April 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

McGee negligently failed to exercise an ordinary degree of care, failed to keep a proper lookout and drove in such a manner that he allowed his vehicle to come into contact with Turner’s, the suit states.

In his complaint, Turner seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Ely Hadowsky of Brown and Brown in St. Louis will be representing him.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-216.
