A woman who says she was hit by a car in a Collinsville parking lot accuses the driver of negligence.
Robbie Keuchler filed a lawsuit against Jo Ann Krietemeyer March 6 in Madison County Circuit Court.
The alleged incident happened in the parking lot of the Golden Corral restaurant on Collinsville Crossing Boulevard in October 2011, according to the complaint. Keuchler says Krietemeyer was attempting to pull into a parking space when she drove her vehicle into the building and hit Keuchler.
Keuchler contends Krietemeyer was negligent for allegedly failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to equip her vehicle with adequate brakes and for accelerating when she should have been braking. She says the driver acted carelessly when she allegedly "failed to stop or swerve her vehicle at the appearance of danger."
Keuchler says she received severe and permanent injuries that have kept her from normal duties. She is asking to be awarded more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses, pain and anguish.
